What is it?
ToughestTribe25 is an 8km endurance race, open to all GAA club members in Ireland. It will take place on Saturday, 1 March 2025. Teams will compete in a test of athleticism and toughness across land, water, road and forest in the County Clare countryside. The winning team will receive €1,000 or a brand new set of jerseys for their club and the ultimate prize being crowned the, 'Toughest tribe' in GAA.
This is an ideal way to test your team's fitness level and help hit pre-season fitness, strength and conditioning targets; a concrete milestone for your team to achieve together while also being in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes. Local construction company PS Carmody Contractors are partnering with us, as main sponsors of this event. Monies raised will fund the operational expenses of our senior hurling team in the year ahead.

How does it work?
To enter you must be an adult playing members of a GAA or camogie club. All participants must be aged 18+ (or turning 18 in 2025). Each team entering must have 4 members/’warriors’ and teams may be single or mixed gender.
- Registration: 10.30am-11.45am
- Race start time: 12pm
- Race duration: As long as it takes you!
- What to wear? Your home club jersey/kit
- Course challenges: Obstacles, river run, forest trail and lots of tough cross-country terrain
- Winners presentation: 3pm
The winning team will be the team with the fastest accumulated time of all 4 race runners. Not competing the full course or avoiding challenges on the course will mean disqualification of the team from winning. All 4 runners must complete the course for the team’s time to count.
The location?
Kilmaley GAA, Lisbiggeen, Kilmaley, Co Clare, V95 YV04. Attending as a family member or just keen to watch? Lisbiggeen sports facility has ample parking with a tea/coffee and a snack shop also available on-site. Dressing rooms with showers will be available for participants. The location also has a ball wall, two grass pitches and playground. The onsite walkway will be available for those taking part in Chieftain's Walk.
Chieftain's Walk
Little heros all around the country face their own battles with cancer every day. Chieftain's Walk is a 5km charity walk taking place on the same day as ToughestTribe25. It will take place on the walkway at Lisbiggeen sports facility at start at 11am (registration from 10am). Keen to be part of day, why not get involved and watch ToughestTribe25 afterwards? All proceeds are going to children's cancer treatment.
